Abstract : In this paper methods for efficient Supply Chain management (SCM) have been discussed to improve core competencies while guaranteeing efficient handling of material and products. The basic structure of SCM has been elaborated taking into account its six main parameters which are Geographical Location of SCM Partners, Logistic Dimensions, Inventory and Forecasting, Marketing and Distribution Channel Management, Product Design, Innovation and New Product Introduction and After Sale Service and Support. This paper mainly brings out the application of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) in the form of Electronic Product Code (EPC) and as passive tracking device to suit harsh manufacturing environment. In the end Fraud Management schemes have been suggested to minimize the possibility of fraudulent activities in the retail sector. © 2010 IEEE.
