Abstract : In recent years, wearable triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) have attracted attention due to its highly flexible, scalable, and low-cost features. Here in this paper, the authors have designed a sliding touch sensor which mimics the human skin to detect caressing touch based on the principle of triboelectric effect using COMSOL Multiphysics simulation software. Various triboelectric materials like Polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE),Polyvinylchioride(PVC) and Polymethyl methacrylate(PMMA) were selected based on the triboelectric series for the comparative study on the effect of these materials on the proposed structure. The study of the device is carried out considering the voltage and charge variation obtained during the caressing of finger over the rectangular block of the polymer.
