Abstract : The main aim of this research is to conceptually design an Inter-City electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing aircraft, with an emphasis on it being powered using zero-carbon emission sources. It has been understood that while the general sequence of designing remains the same as that of a conventional, fossil fuel-powered aircraft, the methodology and the relations used are remarkably different, especially for the sizing procedure. The take-off weight of the aircraft was calculated based on the energy required for the mission. The design process thus varied from the conventional design process at the point of adding VTOL capability in the Weight Estimation and Constraint Analysis segments.
