Abstract : In this paper, a ferrite loaded on-chip antenna (OCA) is proposed for biomedical applications at ISM 0.915 GHz band with improved efficiency and gain. The proposed antenna without imposing ferrite layer in produced gain and efficiency of -44 dBi and 54%, which is considerably improved to -33.5 dBi and 86% after introduction of ferrite layer and gives a significant improvement of + 10.5 dBi and 32% in gain and efficiency of OCA respectively. Two oppositely face C-shape slot miniaturizes the proposed antenna size up to λ 0 /21.2. The size of the proposed antenna is 15×15.4×0.306 mm 3 which is suitable for the OCA requirement in system-on-chip devices for biotelemetry applications. Proposed antenna shows an excellent FBW (fractional bandwidth) of 125 % which makes it eligible for high-speed communication devices. The presented OCA is encapsulated by bio-compatible material silicon nitrate (Si3N4) for making it more suitable and efficient for biotelemetry application devices.
