Abstract : The explosion in the growth of Internet brings with it a lot of security issues. Online gaming has become more popular children and young people. These are generally used for gaining educational benefits, developing skills and understanding. Exploitation of various games and gaming servers using a variety of methods pose threats to online games. Online games have very little security features directly built in them. The threats in online games affect players, game companies, creators, publishers and all investors. An online game is said to be successful only when the players remain loyal and the privacy of the above mentioned entities is maintained. In this paper, an attempt is made to enhance security of multiplayer online games using Blockchain technology. A Blockchain is a ledger capable of recording all transactions securely in tamper proof data structure blocks along with timestamp and pointers to adjacent blocks. The paper uses this ledger to keep track of the coins earned/lost by players to facilitate robust security feature. © Academic Press. All rights reserved.
