Abstract : pUnmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) or Unmanned Aerial Systems (UASs), known for their easy maneuvering, greater flexibility and low costs, are promised to be an excellent aerial sensor for transportation applications. It could be an effective airborne surveillance system for rapid deployment with low cost. UAVs are very flexible and fast compared to the normal road traffic monitoring techniques. In addition, security situations can also impact the entire transportation management system. This paper presents a security incident management in ground transportation system using UAVs. We believe that this provides a strong backbone for researches in the field of intelligent transportation systems (ITS). In this paper, we have presented the analysis of few prominent security situations occurring between three transportation systems (road, train and sea). Using a graph model, various indications and informations about shortest path and other security situations are sent to respective control centres. The model was validated using ARM microcontroller simulation using Keil μvision and Proteus tools. © 2015 IEEE./p
