Abstract : A paradigm shift occurs in history’s environmentally conscious society, as hazardous cutting fluids are being phased out and biodegradable oil-based cutting fluids are introduced. Vegetable oils are potential ecologically friendly metal cutting fluids and have the potential to provide significant relief from a wide range of health problems caused by synthesized cutting fluids, including itchy skin, harmful particulates, ingestion, and so on. Critically, the current article evaluates the possibility of achieving the goal. We can accomplish long-term green production by utilizing environmentally friendly vegetable oil cutting fluids. According to this research series, vegetable oils could be used for synthetic fluids. This alternative may prove to be a cost-effective and effective method of achieving environmentally friendly machining. Bio-degradable oil has a high viscous index, a more excellent pour point, an increased flash point, superior mechanical properties, and is environmentally friendly. Even though biodegradable lubricants are one of the most environmentally friendly options for lubrication, their properties are slightly inferior to conventional mineral oil. Incorporating effective additives into the base stock of biodegradable oil is a popular solution to this problem. It results in a considerable improvement in the lubricant’s thermal, tribological, and anti-oxidation characteristics. Nanoparticles are an effective additive that can be used to improve the properties of biodegradable lubricants. They are becoming increasingly popular. This paper discusses biodegradable oils, nanoparticles, and the improvement of biodegradable lubricant qualities due to the use of nanoparticles.
