Abstract : One of the major challenges faced by researchers focusing in the field of elastomers is finding a suitable technology that permits the retrieval of a higher percentage of rubber waste for a sustainable development. Devulcanization of elastomer is a major solution to the ecological crisis created by elastomeric waste materials. The process of devulcanization is an environmentally friendly recycling treatment of elastomeric waste by breaking the three-dimensional cross-links in it. The devulcanized elastomers offer wide applications to the waste rubber materials and henceforth reduce the environmental problems. This chapter tries to bring into light the difficulties created by elastomer waste and the various promising methods of devulcanization. This chapter also explains the possible products developed from the devulcanized elastomeric blends and composites and their potential application in various fields. For the sustainable development, the recycling of elastomers and its blends and composites is highly inevitable. Hence, this chapter tries to bring light into the various recycling methods of elastomers and its products for a sustainable future.
