Abstract : Background and Aim: Serum bilirubin has been shown to be associated with severity of illness, length of hospital stay and mortality in critically ill patients. However, there have been conflicting reports of the prognostic value of liver function tests (LFTs) in these patients. This study aims to examine various patterns of LFT abnormalities in critically ill patients and assess its prognostic value in identifying mortality in critically ill patients.
