Abstract : Internal combustion engines have been replaced by electric cars because of their superior performance and absence of carbon emissions. Over the past several years, grid integration of RES and EV has increased with the aim of reducing energy prices and emissions. Electric vehicle fast charging stations have a significant impact on the utility power grid due to the use of power electronics converters. The overall power quality of the utility grid is affected by harmonics, inadequate voltage profiles, and active and reactive power imbalances. According to a research analysis, individual photovoltaic cells and EV penetration can have a negative impact on power quality because EV loads are unpredictable and solar energy is intermittent. Review is done on how electric vehicle, photovoltaic system and EV-PV combination affect power quality.
