Abstract : Electromagnetic interference is a phenomenon in which unwanted EM waves create unnecessary pollution that causes damage to electronic and electrical devices. So, shielding of electronic gadgets from this unwanted pollution is highly essential, and many materials are explored for this purpose. Polymer blends and nanocomposites are advanced class of materials with superior EM absorbing characteristics. Polymer-based materials can be tailored with nanoparticles to obtain resulting systems with high electrical conductivity, dielectric, and magnetic properties. This review focuses on bringing together efficient EMI shields prepared from a combination of polymer blends, suitable nanoparticles, and polymer composites. These optimized combinations result in an overall effective EMI shielding material. More emphasis is given to polymer blends with respect to added nanofillers.
