Abstract : In this era of increasing data users, error free transmission and overcoming the shortcomings of limited bandwidth are the current challenges in increasing the spectral efficiency. In order to increase the data rate with constrained bandwidth, a technique called Spatial Modulation (SM) is used to transmit information with the help of spatial location of source. This study aims to model an end-to-end reliable communication system using SM and evaluate its performance in transmission and reception of different forms of data, viz. image, audio and text. The analysis is carried out with various Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) schemes and antenna numbers. Rayleigh fading channel is assumed as the channel model with Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) range between 0-24dB. Further the performance is evaluated using bit error ratio (BER) and Mean square Error (MSE)
