Abstract : As seen in the millimeter wave era, the quest for method with constrains of bandwidth and increasing data rate within the limited bandwidth is difficult. In this paper, the performance of Differential Spatial Modulation (DSM) and Spatial Modulation (SM) are analyzed and compared across different channels with varying number of antennas, symbol mapping techniques and different input modalities. Even-though SM explores the space dimension, it also requires Channel State Information(CSI)at the receiving antennas, which makes the implementation impractical. DSM architecture poses a solution to this problem, also exploring both space and time dimensions. Bit Error Rate is used to drive the performance analysis of these systems. The results shows that DSM performed better when compared to SM in all the scenarios considered.
