Abstract : There have been several methods for de-noising and each has its own merits and demerits. This paper deals with the comparison of noise reduction ability of Matched filter, Wavelet analysis and Wiener filter which are tested on continuous wave radar and pulsed radar signals. Matched filtering is a demodulation technique with linear time invariant filters to maximize SNR. Wavelet transform performs a correlation analysis; therefore maximum output is expected when the input signal most resembles the mother wavelet. Two signals contaminated with Additive White Gaussian Noise are used for performance evaluation of these three filters and simulations results are provided.
