Abstract : Conventional signal processing is based on predefined bases such as discrete cosine transform bases, fourier bases etc and filters like digital filters which leads to more probability of error. After the development of compressed sensing, such systems are formulated as optimization problems which takes into account sparsity, group sparsity etc in the signal. This highlights the importance of modern signal processing ie, optimization based signal processing. In this paper we have presented the excel implementation of optimization based signal processing problems like linear prediction, smoothing, polynomial approximation and system identification. © Research India Publications.
