Abstract : Mobile Cloud computing (MCC) has become a promising paradigm for extending computing services to the mobile clients. However dynamic and cost-efficient resource provisioning remains challenging due to its limited battery, intermittent connections, and mobility. This paper presents an optimal resource provisioning and management model that includes a two-stage process. In the first stage, the cost, waiting time of the mobile clients and the utilization of the cloud server are jointly optimized using cuckoo search-based optimization algorithm. In the second stage, context-aware cloud resource management algorithm is proposed to improve the efficiency of the system. The results of simulation experiments show that the proposed framework can provide better performance as compared to the existing state of art approaches.
