Abstract : This research work aims to develop an Internet of Things (IoT) based system for condition monitoring of indoor cultivation in a controlled environment. The indoor crop selected for this study is Mint. It is known that Mint has low maintenance requirements and the ability to thrive in a controlled environment. Mint plants prefer well-drained soil, Indirect sunlight and regular watering. The main reason behind the selection of mint crops for this project is they also benefit from occasional pruning to promote growth and prevent overcrowding. The traditional monitoring of environmental conditions for indoor crops can be labour-intensive and prone to human errors. The proposed solution utilizes technological advancements, integrating sensors, cloud connectivity and IoT platforms. These components play a crucial role in monitoring key parameters essential for successful mint cultivation indoors, such as temperature, water levels, and moisture requirements. This project involves establishing seamless communication between the controller and mobile phone or web applications. Through cloud platforms, farmers can remotely access real-time vital updates about environmental conditions at rural areas. By introducing a smart economic system using IoT devices for indoor crops, it is possible to make the farming process easier and perfect with the controlled monitoring of environmental conditions.
