Abstract : A balanced wide-band band-stop filter with high common-mode rejection at 2.45 GHz is proposed in this paper. The filter is realized using slot-line which is suitable for implementing balanced filters supporting differential TE mode signaling. An initial transmission line model for a band-stop filter employing shunt short-circuited stub is designed and differential/common-mode characteristics are examined by extracting the mixed-mode S-parameters. This is modified as a meander line which offers wide band-stop response, while also facilitating size reduction. Standard S-parameters and of the simulated slot-line structure, with and without meandered stubs are obtained. Finally, the proposed structure is implemented on FR4-Epoxy substrate and measured using a network analyzer and compared with the simulated response.
