Abstract : Radio propagation in wireless communications varies based on the speed of frequency operation, mobile terminal and the parameters like, transmitter antenna height, mobile height, connector loss, cable loss, antenna gain, path losses and receiver sensitivity. The Path loss and the parameters of the transmitter (TX) and receiver (RX) depend on the received signal strength. The establishment of the quality of call is based on received signal strength. Signal strength varies based on different terrains. In this paper, Cost-Hata model, ECC-33 model and Ericsson models are considered for Path loss calculation [2]. The different receiver antenna heights (1.5m and 10m) of signal strength is calculated and compared with proposed propagation models for different terrains.
