Abstract : Advances in minimal access procedures have led surgeons to do more and more procedures laparoscopically. Although pediatric laparoscopic surgery is still in its evolving phase, it is finding a place in urological procedures. Laparoscopic nephrectomy for dysplastic kidney has now become a widely accepted procedure. We present a case of ectopic malrotated dysplastic kidney which was removed successfully by laparoscopy. Because of its abnormal location and abnormal vasculature, it is technically demanding, and very few cases have been reported to date. Minimal pain, short hospital stay, low morbidity, and superior cosmesis are the advantages.
