Abstract : pKleinia Grandiflora (KG) is an ayurvedic medicinal plant which is widely used as anti-inflammatory agent, also the plant listed under endangered species to our society. Therefore, the current research is aimed to evaluate anti- inflammatory property of the leave extract of KG by membrane stabilization method. The plant, KG, is available in the hills of Yercaud at Salem district, Tamil Nadu. The plant was identified, harvested and brought to the laboratory in a safe condition. The KG leaves were dried under room temperature and extracted using hexane, chloroform, ethanol and water by soxhlet apparatus. The extracts were analyzed for various phytochemical constituents followed by anti-inflammatory studies. The anti-inflammatory activity was measured by inhibition of hypo tonicity induced human red blood cells (HRBC) membrane lysis in the extract. The potency of the plant extract was compared with standard diclofenac sodium. From the present study, the anti-inflammatory activities of ethanol and water extracts were found to be more promising. © 2017 Elsevier Ltd./p
