Abstract : There is an increase in crime rates due to the rapid population growth and lack of enough security systems to monitor the city population. The crimes in cities primarily affect the elderly and women living alone in their homes. Smart Home security systems are a promising development that addresses the security and monitoring issues faced by the citizens living in big cities. This work presents a unique Internet of Things (IoT) based intelligent home security system integrated with object detection and classification using deep learning to enhance the home surveillance system. Our work helps to assist humans by identifying the visitors coming to the home premises using a combination of IoT and Deep Learning techniques to reduce the vulnerability of old age and women living alone in the urban area. This work will help provide more intelligence to the security and surveillance systems in the unique home environment.
