Abstract : In this paper, a graph measure is used for pursuing and monitoring the components involved in a material system is described. Its concept is constructed on the basis of metric dimension of graph. It is a graphical measure which gives the minimum number of ‘robots’ to be placed in special location in the network so as to monitor the functioning of whole process of components in the network. Manufacturing design of resources, parts, electrical components that helps in the production of a product through a sequence of processes can be modelled by means of a graph. The objective of the paper is to exemplify how the metric dimension of graph supports in tracing the activities of the components involved in the process.
