Abstract : With the rapid urbanization and industrialization, there is an abrupt increase in the number of vehicles, power stations, and other manufacturing and industrial facilities. The fall out of this ever-increasing concentration of pollutants in the atmosphere is an exponential increase in the incidence of a variety of diseases. The first step to address the issue is to monitor the air quality with a higher spatial and temporal resolution. This paper makes use of multiple wireless sensor nodes that monitor the concentration of pollutants at various locations and forward the data wirelessly to the host. A forecasting model is also generated using machine learning techniques to have an idea of the air quality index of what the near future holds. The data is then visualized on a mapping service platform that enables the user to better understand the air quality with ease.
