Abstract : In recent years, several investigations were carried out to study the characteristics of a novel heat transport mode in which heat is transported from a hot to a cold reservoir by means of sinusoidal oscillations of a viscous fluid contained within open-ended tubes connecting the reservoirs. It has been experimentally[1] and analytically [2] confirmed that such periodic longitudinal oscillations result in a very significant enhancement in axial transport capability of the fluid.
