Abstract : Adding 6 wt% of graphene oxide (GO) into iodide-triiodide (I−/I−3) electrolyte improved dye sensitized solar cell (DSSC) performance by a factor of 100% (from 3.5% to 7.0%) by achieving effective hole transport. Performance of DSSCs was suppressed by a factor of 17% (from 3.5% to 2.9%) due to the GO more than 6 wt%. GO improved the hole transport for an optimum concentration in the I−/I−3 while impeded the same for higher concentration due to the reduction in diffusivity. The presented work established a simple and straight forward approach to improve the performance of DSSCs by improving hole transport.
