E-waste management is essential to overcome hazards from e-waste and also to maintainenvironmental sustainability.E-waste is also an opportunity for budding entrepreneurs to reap huge profits through extraction of useful materials such as gold, silver, copper and other precious metals it constitutes. A key in this regard is the participation of consumer in returning used or obsolete electronics to authorized recyclers. This paper is an attempt to understand the entrepreneurial capacity in e-waste fromthe perspective of household consumer of electronic products. The results based on a pilot study conducted in Kochi City showed that the awareness about of e-waste as an entrepreneurial opportunity is moderate. Hence, this paper aims to create the essential awareness about e-waste as a source of wealth and not a mere waste, among the readers.
