Abstract : In the proposed system, a load balancing system for the residential purpose has been developed which can be connected to solar energy and grid. The load balancing system will ensure the usage of solar power as much as possible. When solar energy is low, power from the AC grid system will be used for the loads. The load balancing system identifies automatically the required loads and switches off unwanted loads to reduce power consumption. The system is equipped with passive filters for the reduction of harmonic distortion. Based on user requirement, a mechanism to switch OFF/ON the loads in the house will be provided by the load balancing system. This system is demonstrated with IoT based controller which interface the communication between the connected devices.
