Abstract : By combining the advantages of wavelets with the advantages of hexagonal grid, we get the hexagonal wavelets, which are of no doubt faster and efficient than the conventional wavelet. This work presents a wavelet transform on a hexagonal lattice, based upon the method of lifting scheme. The work uses a novel addressing scheme known as spiral addressing scheme which is symmetric, spatiotopic, and hierarchical for representing hexagonal images.
