Abstract : Digital Transformation has been driven by big data lakes, where enormous data have been generated from the devices at the user and the core network side. Such data lakes created in the network require an end-to-end security management. This paper explores the state of the art 5G security threat overview and, indicates some key efforts taken towards strengthening the network layer within the end-to-end security by the Service Providers. In this context, this work explores the Gi-LAN perimeter as a powerful security engine to provide enhanced security in the core network. Furthermore, this work outlines a specific use case to highlight the possibility to integrate Traffic Detection Function into the Gi-LAN traffic optimization to contribute to the end-to-end security framework in 5G Service Provider Platform.
