Abstract : Aluminum rods were turned with dry and coolant conditions. In both cases they turned at different speeds and feed rates. From the observations, machining parameters like power consumed, cutting force, torque, material removal rate and tool life were calculated. Kerosene was used as the coolant. A white light interferometer was used to measure the surface roughness of all samples. The variation of machining parameters and surface roughness were studied, and conclusions were made.
