Abstract : Nowadays power quality (PQ) is of prime concern in the distribution system as the number of sophisticated equipment which relies on the quality of power supply has quadrupled over the last two decades. Harmonics, reactive power, unbalance, voltage sag/swell, etc. are common power quality issues in the distribution network. Among these, voltage-related power quality issues are the most critical. Although several solutions have been suggested in the literature, Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR) is a reliable and economic solution to mitigate voltage-related PQ issues effectively. This paper explains a thorough review of DVR, its topologies, operation modes, and the controller
