Abstract : The organization neglects the importance of assets which should be protected; then, it is open to vulnerabilities and may suffer consequences. Software Defined Network is an emerging technology that dynamically controls network flow with better monitoring and management. An intrusion detection system plays a primary role in monitoring malicious activity in an organization. These can be simulated using SDN Mininet, which can virtualize a wide range of network devices and tools. Attacks like remote method invocation of applications can be triggered using the activity logs of the application. These logs can be accessed via Log4j service. In this paper, IDS is integrated with the SDN Mininet controller to detect Log4j attacks in the application.
