Abstract : In the design of a reflectarray antenna, the phase shift contributed by the individual elements of the array is of major importance. This paper investigates the two different unit cells, one of which is constructed as a single layer and the other as a structure with five layers, both of which were created using the CST Microwave Studio Suite with Floquet port incidence. To achieve the appropriate phase range in the frequency range of 10.7 to 11.7GHz, the patch size is changed in both components. The I-shaped single layer element achieves a 341 degree phase shift with a reflection coefficient of 0.59 dB. The 360-degree phase shift produced by the multilayer fractal unit cell has a reflection coefficient of 0.52 dB.
