Abstract : The complexity, phase loss, efficiency and directivity are the major constraints while designing reflector antennas. The solution is to use the reflect array antennas instead of reflectors. This paper focuses the design of reflect array antenna for Ku band satellite communication. The design of unit cell is important to achieve maximum efficiency. This design focuses the reflect array unit cell working in the frequency range of 12.75 GHz to 14.5 GHz with the center frequency of 13.625 GHz, which is suitable for Ku band uplink satellite communication. The proposed unit cells provide the phase shift of nearly 3600 with minimum phase error. The return loss values below 0.6 dB in the negative scale show that the proposed unit cells are good reflector to use it in an array.
