Abstract : Taxonomy is a standardised set of terms, hierarchically organised, used to categorise information and knowledge. Research reported here focuses on the development of a framework and approach for taxonomy and technology architecture towards the initiative of KM solution before the implementation. The framework and approach can be directly used as a base for any manufacturing organisation for taxonomy and technology architecture. The taxonomy and technology architecture has been demonstrated through a real-life case study in an Indian textile machinery manufacturing company. Copyright © 2012 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.
