Abstract : This paper investigates the design of an optimal battery management system for a Hybrid Renewable Energy System thatallows performance improvements. This paper analyzes the battery management system using an intelligent controller for improving the efficiency of the system. The power optimization for effective energy utilization is done by Low priority (L), Medium Priority (M) and High Priority (H) loads. Proposed fuzzy controller monitor and control the load distribution by battery, therebydecides the priorityof the load. Comparing to conventional BMS (battery management system) it is a more suitable solution for Renewable Energy due to its high flexibility and scalability. This eventually reduces the battery dry-out and offers a better optimization of battery usage which indirectly boosts up the backup time of battery.
