Abstract : Electric vehicles have become a viable alternative to overcome the drawbacks of fuel emissions. Charging infrastructure for EVs is going to be the important parameter for establishing a convenient changeover to electric vehicles. This paper provides a charging method using Dual Active Bridge (DAB) converter. DAB converter can be utilized for applications in on-board electric vehicle charging with capabilities of vehicle to grid connectivity. DAB is like a two-port network, which is having a high-frequency transformer between two Hbridge converters, which is providing galvanic isolation. Different phase shift techniques like simple, extended, dual, and triple-phase shift techniques in Matlab Simulink platform were used to test DAB with a system consisting of front-end-power factor correction and stage connected to a Lithium-ion battery. The present investigation compares the charging scheme of phase shift methodologies, wherein dual and triple-phase shift techniques were found to be optimal for V2G charging modes with bidirectional capability.
