Abstract : Infection increases the mortality in cirrhosis by up to four times. Urinary tract infections (UTI) are common and an important cause of deterioration and mortality in patients with cirrhosis. Limited literature is available from India regarding the clinico-microbiological profile and its impact on survival in patients with cirrhosis. The aim of the study was to determine the spectrum of UTI and its effect on 90-day outcomes in hospitalized patients with cirrhosis.
