Abstract : Two copper complexes C1 and C2 supported by bis(pyrazolyl) methane ligands are synthesised and characterised using various spectro analytical techniques. Both the compounds showed good activity for catalytic conversion of 3,5-di-tert-butyl catechol into 3,5-di-tert-butyl-o-benzoquinone, indicating their efficiency as analogues compounds for the enzyme, catechol oxidase. The time-dependent oxidation reactions were monitored by UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The complex C1 showed better activity compared to complex C2.
