Abstract : Some of the laboratories or research facilities need to maintain certain environmental conditions like a specific temperature level or humidity level. Along with this, some of the labs tend to work with delicate components that need extreme care while shifting them from one place to another. The proposed idea is of an autonomous lab assisting mobile robot which is capable of checking the environmental conditions and aiding in maintaining it. It also helps in the movement of the delicate components. The 2-wheeled robot has the map of the lab fed into it and nodes are created to represent the surrounding conditions. A graphical user interface is implemented to showcase the environmental conditions. An alerting system in case of a mishap is also incorporated into this user interface. Using the appropriate SLAM algorithm, the mapping and localisation will be implemented. LiDAR sensor will aid in creating the map of the laboratory. A simulation of the said idea is implemented in this paper.
