Abstract : Aluminium and its alloys are one of the most common materials used in the aerospace and automotive industry due to its lightweight to high strength ratio, good corrosion resistance, and moderate strength. Hardness and wear rate are the two important properties that restrict the use of these alloys in automobile industries as they possess very low value. In order to enhance these properties extensive research is being conducted on Aluminium alloys by surface modification, alloying and reinforcing ceramic particles to get metal matrix hybrid composites. Currently there is a demand for environmentally friendly products that make use of waste materials to produce useful components. Flyash is an industrial waste that is obtained by the combustion of coal; it is reinforced to Aluminium matrix to improve the properties of the current alloy. In this present study, an analysis will be conducted on the automobile piston to validate the experimental value obtained by developing Al-Zn hybrid metal matrix composite by stir casting. Al-Zn is reinforced with flyash and SiC particles. By reinforcing flyash and SiC into Al-Zn matrix an improvement in the properties is observed and analysis is conducted on total deformation, Directional Deformation and Equivalent elastic strain.
