Abstract : Nowadays, water scarcity is one of the most important challenging problem faced by the people in India. Due to the rapid increase of population, industrialization and impact created by anthropogenic on the environment, a day may come where the country can become completely inorganic. To exists life for humans on earth, sustainable development is necessary. Use of water is every individual's basic need in terms of drinking, daily survival and essential for the generation of power. So, precautions should be taken to increase water availability. Along with potable water needs, properties of water also play an important role in defining its various purposes. The parameters consideredin this model are pH, conductivity and turbidity. One of the apt methods to determine these parameters is by harvesting water. Rainwater harvesting is one of the easiest, best, cheap and advancing methods in terms of water conservation. The proposed model implements a prototype hardware model for the rainwater harvesting system using the filtration method and to send the information through IoT. This project proposes a reliable, automatic rainwater harvesting system using micro-controller, pH sensor, conductivity sensor and turbidity sensor. The model can be set up at home and information can be known through the website with the help of the ESP8266 Wi-Fi module. It is completely automatic without including manual design and takes a step ahead of existing semi-automatic processes thus enhancing the theme of rainwater harvesting. With this equipment, pure water can be obtained from rainwater and can be used for various purposes such as households, gardening, electricity and industrial applications by meeting the requirements of the user in any season and helps in improving the lives of people.
