Abstract : Recent years particle filtering has evolved as a powerful method in solving many problems in engineering field. The problems include non-Gaussian noise and nonlinear functions. Particle filter is very useful in analysing nonlinear and non-Gaussian systems. In this paper nonlinear applications of modified particle filter like tracking, estimation, detection, equalisation and localization are discussed in detail and performance comparison of Modified Particle filters with other existing methods is also done and inferences has been made based on error performances. © 2017 IEEE.
