Abstract : This Survey proposes the overview of the Hand based Multimodal biometric systems. This survey starts with introduction to biometrics, its classification, strengths, and weakness is discussed. A brief discussion about different selection criteria of different biometrics is given. This paper also presents some details about important factors that affect the multimodal biometric system are fully provided. Related research work and recent trends in the multimodal biometrics is briefly discussed in separate section. This survey also describes about various modes of operation of multimodal Biometric system. One separate section discussed about the various fusion level schemes used in biometrics, which include Sensor-level, Rank-level, Abstract-level, Score-level and its different rules of fusion schemes are also discussed in this section. This survey finally demonstrates the issues that are currently holding the deployment of multimodal biometric person authentication systems and a possible scope for future work.
