Abstract : In this present scenario the usage of harmful pesticides in farming fields are increasing. Currently the fruits and vegetables transported to Kerala carries a huge amount of harmful pesticides which were deleterious to human body. At the same time preference of people have also changed. Nowadays most people prefer to buy organic fruits and vegetables. So the scope of organic farming is increasing day by day. In this scenario, many local communities had taken up organic farming for producing fresh vegetables and fruits. There are many government organizations also who took initiative towards organic farming. This study focused on the role of Self-Help Group towards organic farming. The research is descriptive and hypothetical in nature.
