Abstract : PMU measurements lose its accuracy due to bias errors and noise in the actual field installation. To maintain the accuracy of measurement taken by a Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU) it is essential to calibrate the device. Instead of calibrating the device each time this paper proposes a method of error detection and an algorithm to correct the measurement on the basis of the Total Vector Error (TVE) concept.
