Abstract : Smart control systems infer user locations through wireless sensor networks, active and passive RFIDs, NFCs etc., to name a few. This involves considerable amount of installation and sensor data managing. We present a personalized smart control system that learns user location and controls appliances present at the user's location. The only sensor we use is the smartphone itself through its embedded magnetic field and light sensors for classifying user locations and detecting light intensity in rooms respectively.
