Abstract : As internet users are growing every hour, an active technology called Wireless Mesh Network (WMN) is becoming prevalent. The WMN provides improved quality of service to end users of the Internet. Most of the multicasting applications such as Video-on-Demand (VoD), video conferencing, voice over IP (VoIP) etc. are demanding stringent Quality of Service (QoS) assurance between the communications of a particular source to numerous destinations. This leads to the development of multi-constrained multicast routing that satisfies multiple quality of service factors concurrently. Choosing a route that satisfies all required constraints is an NP-complete problem. In the recent literature, these complexities are resolved through many mathematical models and optimization techniques. A comprehensive study on existing approaches in multi-constraint multicast routing has been done and a framework suitable for multi-constraint routing is developed. The factors that influence the multi-constraint routing along with its performance metrics are discussed.
