Abstract : Eye tracking refers to measuring point of gaze or relative motion of eye with respect to head. The primary motivation is to study and implement a technique of mapping human eye gaze onto the computer to serve as a means of interface between the human and the system. With the various approaches to eye tracking systems, systems based on light-reflection which utilizes sensors which are non-imaging, like low complexity phototransistors or photodiodes, computation requirements and almost provide moderately accurate estimation of the gesture performed using the eye. The cost of the system is considerably reduced when compared with the commercially available systems. The acquired data are then used in low computation based algorithms to recognize the gesture performed. The system aims at utilizing an algorithm for effectively classifying the patterns for performing right, left and double clicks based on respective eye winks with accuracy of high order.
